The Apulian charm is limitless because every year it attracts millions of tourists from all over the world. Among these, attracted by itineraries rich in landscapes, colors, sounds, smells and flavors that our beloved offers, there are motorcyclists who are passionate about motorcycle tourism. Last summer, Discoverent had the pleasure of hosting a dear friend; Salvatore Di Benedetto, AKA in the motorcycle tourism world Sasaplanet. He likes to call himself an Adventure Traveler, as his ideal travel is simply an adventure on a motorcycle, his own "comfort zone" into which he falls when he is on vacation. Thanks to Discoverent, our friend Sasaplanet had the chance to discover Puglia, and add another experience to the ones previously lived in every part of the globe, always riding a motorbike. We gave him a BMW R 1200 GS, the ideal way to spend the short three-day vacation that he allowed himself in our beautiful region. Before getting on the saddle, Sasaplanet visited the surprising historical neighborhood of “Bari Vecchia”, on one of the electric bicycles kindly offered by Veloservice, a bike and rickshaw tour guide service in the Apulian capital.
There were many cultural-enriching moments, food wise especially, thanks to the expertise of Barese women known for their artisanal production of a traditional Apulian pasta type: orecchiette, as well as scagliozze, deep friend cornflower. After spending the night at the Barion Hotel & Congress center in the seaside district of Torre a Mare, known for spectacular sea view restaurants where you can start the day with panoramic breakfast, Sasaplanet parted ways with Discoverent and set off to the enchanting Masseria Narducci in Fasano, immersed in the countryside of the Brindisi, anoher Apulian city, but not before having made a stop in two renowned Apulian towns; Polignano a Mare and Alberobello. Finally, he couldn't leave without a postcard-like souvenir picture of a breathtaking view of the Ripagnola Coast with its blue color Adriatic Sea and iconic Trulli on hay bale covered land. Sasaplanet particularly appreciated the panoramic road that from Otranto leads to Santa Maria di Leuca, the main part of the Lecce-Ostuni leg of the Discoverent tour. Among the most characteristic places of this stretch is the Cava di Bauxite, as well as the sublime Grotta della Poesia (Poem Cave).
